Cooperation with the American Jewish Committee, Polish-Jewish relations, Polish foreign policy priorities and modern-day security threats were the subjects discussed during a meeting on Friday between Minister Witold Waszczykowski, Deputy Ministers Jan Dziedziczak and Joanna Wronecka with leaders of the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

During a meeting with the AJC delegation headed by its Executive Director David Harris, Minister Witold Waszczykowski expressed satisfaction with Poland’s cooperation with this organisation that has been going on for over 20 years. “We appreciate the fact that the AJC has been a consistent supporter of Poland’s democratic transformation and its efforts to gain membership of European and transatlantic organisations,” underscored the chief of Poland’s diplomacy. The MFA’s representatives have also thanked the AJC for supporting Poland in its efforts to defend historical truth.

Minister Waszczykowski informed the AJC delegation about this year’s most important events: the World Youth Day in Krakow and NATO Summit in Warsaw, and pointed to the need for close cooperation of the Alliance in the context of threats coming from the east and south.

The American Jewish Committee is a leading American Jewish organisation acting for the protection the interest of the Jewish diaspora outside the US. The organisation supported, among others, Poland’s NATO membership efforts, and now advocates adding Poland to the US visa waiver program.
